Jan Dismas Zelenka´s MISSA PASCHALIS ZWV 7 is a wonderful example for his “stile misto”, remarkable for polyphonic consistency and fulness of harmonic recourse, much admired by J. S. Bach. J. S. Bach´s EASTER ORATORIO BWV 249 is an exceptional work as the recitatives and arias are sung by four biblical characters, rather in the manner of a passion play. Lionel Meunier and his Vox Luminis are particularly equipped to make this masterpiece come alive.
