SYNOPSIS

This documentary is an adventurous musical journey from France through India, following the story of French born Alain Daniélou who mainly lived in India between the 30s and 60s. In India Daniélou becamse a Sanskrit scholar, converted to Hinduism, studied Indian classical music and wrote books about Veda, Hindu philosophy and Shivaism. Thanks to him we now look at Indian music not as another kind of world music but a highly sophisticated classical music of another culture.
